Acceptance of Adventure Travel in India

Today, India serves as one of the hotspots of adventure travel in the world – housing close to 73% of the entire Himalayan range, with a biodiversity and topography that facilitates almost all kinds of adventure sports, the Indian subcontinent has tons to offer for the adrenalin junkie! But this has not always been the case, has it?

Even as early as a decade ago, Indians were not very interested in the idea of an adventure Travel. If a family wanted to take a vacation, they'd probably get into a train, and head to the nearest hill station go sightseeing, take a few pictures and come home. Or they'd visit the temples and other holy places and get their taste of culture and religion, but the adrenalin rush was never in the picture.

And then came the IT boom. The Indian Middle-class went from no adventures to becoming one of the fastest-growing industries within the country? Why, you ask? Simple – with the IT sector came worldwide travel and exposure, along with the need to de-stress and go on long holidays to rejuvenate themselves!

The growth of the IT sector has had a big impact on tourism in a number of ways. The first, of course, is that travel abroad and even within the country has increased; as we work on Western time to meet their offshore requirements outsourced to us, we've found ourselves exposed to a whole new gamut of what counts as holiday. And the NRIs who went there to work have come back with stories of how healthy an adrenalin rush can be – curiosity will out, I'm say, did not it? We wanted to try these things out ourselves and boom! Adventure Travel in India has become a 'Thing' with a capital T.

In all seriousness, though, along with the growth of IT, there's been a growth in the affordability as well. Earlier on, when adventure tour & travel was an infant industry, most families said no simply because it was either too expensive or they feared for safety. With the increase in wealth, that factor's gone out the window!

For instance, if you've never done any kind of adventure tour before – just go for the simplest of treks offered by a well-established adventure company! Start out small, finish a trek in a few days and then you can jump into diving, skiing and what have you!

India is growing; the adventures it offers are innumerable, given how diverse the topography and the people are. Adventure travel companies are working with the flow – from custom packages to fixed ones which includes long treks across the mountains & Valleys plus they also offer specific adventure activities like River-Rafting, Paragliding or Mountain-Biking etc to short one-day trips, companies are offering both employment to the locals as well as catering to that adrenalin need within the population.

So what are you waiting for? Get up and go today!

How to Bring Fun Back to Your Trips!

Despite the excitement it brings, many of the travelers think even leisure trips have become much more stressful. Somehow, the fun part seems to be missing from them badly. Despite the excitement it brings, many of the travelers think even leisure trips have become much more stressful. Somehow, the fun part seems to be missing from them badly. It's one of those feelings that when you head back from a trip, you feel like you need another one.

Most of the people simply wish to getaway to more peaceful places when they travel. Sadly, the planning can sometimes become so overwhelming that the tourists hard find an opportunity to get away from their stressful life. If you're worried about fun lacking from your leisure trips, here are some things you need to do soon.

Booking Sensibly
Booking simply is not about getting the cheapest airfare available. It is beyond that. You can get very cheap fares even if you intend to fly last minute. To book right, you need to stay ahead of the time. Most of the airline seats are posted on the web 11 months in advance. This is ideally the time you should start looking for your flight options. Since they've been freshly posted, you have a chance to save more and travel at your own terms.

When it comes to selecting lodgings, you just do not have to book hotels because everyone is going for them. Being creative with your lodgings can give a whole new feel to your trip and help you make significant savings. Instead of hotels, consider different options such as vacation rentals, villa breaks, camping or even cruising.

Flying
Probably what's least exciting in your trips is flying itself. The anxiety flying partnerships to many makes them forget things and act in clumsy manner that is not too appealing to the airport security.

Airports are not that miserable, you simply need to be at your best when you make your way to the airport. There are a couple of ways you can make peace with your airport stay. Arrive at the airport earlier so that you allow yourself enough time even when it's a busy day ahead. Wear clothing that you make quickly through the airport security easily. If you can, checking in ahead of time would be a great option and save you from a lot of time. The never ending queue at the airport check-in counters these days can completely drive you crazy.

Less Complicated Travel Plans
When we travel to new destinations, we wish to make it more happening and make our trips more fulfilling. Doing so, we often end up fitting too many complicated plans in our travel itinerary. This way, you hardly enjoy any part of your trip because you're too focused on finishing off with everything. When you travel, aim to make it more fulfilling and mindful. Focus more on the quality of your trip rather than simply tapping off places. From food to visiting attractions, everything should be simple fun. If you're not the sort to enjoy overrated attractions, do not bother queuing up for them!

Tours Of Bryce Canyon Available Starting In Las Vegas

Each year thousands of people begin the process of planning trips to the great national parks of the American southwest, and each year thousands of people abandon those plans as the reality of the situation sets in. Basically, flying from your home to the area surrounding most national parks is more difficult than you would think, and flying to the closest major airports leaves you with hours of driving before you will ever reach the park. For this reason, many will never experience the beauty of many parks like Bryce.

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in Utah, and is roughly 4 hours driving distance from both Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, which represents the closest major airports. While there are other airports that are closer, the major of them are small and can not accept traffic from major carriers or large planes. This severely limits the amount of flights available, and increases the prices of flights significantly. In addition to this, once you are on the ground in most of these small towns there is limited choices for hotels and restaurants, with even less in the form of entertainment. This is why most visitors to Bryce Canyon choose to leave from Las Vegas, arranging their trip as part of a larger vacation. Las Vegas is specifically set up to cater to tourists and has far more in terms of hotels and entertainment than other cities. Most people who are not locals in the southwest will choose to fly into Las Vegas and stay a few days before embarking on their trip to Bryce.

There are several professional tour companies offering tours of Bryce Canyon that leave from Las Vegas. These companies are generally very accommodating and will go as far as to pick you up at a major hotel and drop you off at the same place. The tours are usually scheduled to include several other parks like Zion or the Grand Canyon, so as to maximize the experience while minimizing the driving time. The four hour trip to the area makes more sense to travel another hour or so to get another park than simply driving back to the original location. This will also provide those who are looking for a completely unique experience the ability to camp in the park. Allowed a professional tour company to take care of the details of your Bryce tour is the way to go.

The Grand Teton Mountain Range

I am sixty years old, which qualifies me to give advice to young adults. I said that to get your attention, but a lot of folks my age and older have been there and done that and can be a valuable source of knowledge to those in the twenties and thirties. My advice centers on understanding that at a young age, under most circumstances, your most valuable commodity is time.

There is so much you can do with time, unless you are limited by poor health or insufficient wealth. Assuming that you do not yet suffer from the former, the chances are greater that you are afflicted by the latter. That is why you are likely investing your time and money into educating yourself, in competitiveness for a better job, or in cobbling together more jobs. You marry and have children, a blessing, but also a conviction of you to work until you are my age. Before these things take hold of you completely, right now, decide to experience wild America. Go see the west!

You need a target. I suggest The Grand Teton Mountain Range in Wyoming. Organize your favorite people and suggest that all of you should invest time into getting into great shape by hiking, biking, and climbing. Find the local trails, campsites, and nature's beauty that you can see and enjoy with borrowed or used gear so that you can learn your level of commitment and decide on which gear you will buy. But, while you get yourself into great shape and while you bring your friends up to the thrill of adventure, set your sights on the Tetons.

Your greatest expense will likely be flying to Jackson Hole. Coordinate your first trip with your friends and try to get a great air fare for late Spring or early Fall. The Tetons are north of Jackson Hole. Jackson Lake Lodge is the best place to take in the panoramic view. It is expensive to stay there, but you can go there for free and have a great lunch with a view for a reasonable price. Once that view gets your heart pumping, follow your plan to hike and camp along one of the ten major trails that lead into the range. You will never forget this!

Likely, you will be fired up to take on the rest of wild western America while you are still young. Yellowstone is north of the Tetons. Southern Utah red rock country simply must be experienced. Yosemite in California, Denali in Alaska, and hundreds of other hiking locations beckon. You must start young, be in shape, have a plan, and just do it or you will squander your time and be sixty-years-old, compelled to only look at these adventures from your hotel.

Take precautions: Do not do unsafe things in wild America. Be careful with fire, respectful of weather, mind your feet, keep a good source of communications, a reliable means to filter water, travel light, bring bear spray, and rope to put your food in a tree away from a camp at night. Travel in a group of at least four people. Other than that, get your happy face on and use your valuable time to get to the marrow of life. Go wild!

Bring extra clothes as needed, but never forget to bring toilets and first-aid kit. These things are always important, especially if you will travel alone. Expect the unexpected while on your travel. It is better to be prepared at all times.

While going on your adventure travel, it is good to know your strengths and limitations. If you are really determined to try surfing, you must know your strengths. You should have the ability to learn a new skill in a fast pace. If you are dedicated in what you want to do, you will really enjoy your travel. Have the courage to try something new during your vacation.

One important thing that you must not forget when on vacation is to socialize and interact with other people. You will enjoy your adventure travel if you will take the time to know other people with varying interests and cultures. Be polite in your conversations. Show your curiosity and be interested in learning new things from the locals. It will be your chance to explore other cultures and gain knowledge about them. Have fun with the locals and other tourists.

You must also remember that one of the most important things you should never forget is to enjoy your travel. No place is 100% perfect and never expect that you will find a specific place without a little flaw. Just enjoy your vacation and never let the negativity subside your excitement. See the good and positive sides and you will have the best adventure travel.

Planning your travel will make your adventure vacation more exciting. Never forget these tips and other pieces of advice that you may gather from the internet and from your loved ones. Safety and security must always be ensured in order to have the best vacation.

“I walked slowly to enjoy this freedom, and when I came out of the mountains,

I saw the sky over the prairie, and I thought that if heaven was real,

I had it a place I never had to go, for this earth was greater than any paradise. “Daniel J. Rice, The Unpeopled Season: Journal from a North Country Wilderness

The Land of Gods, Uttarakhand is enriched with places where you can have this feeling. With its breathtaking mountains and snow covered peaks, the state has a whole lot on its plate to offer. Home to Nanda Devi, the second tallest peak in India as well as a host of other 7000 meter plus peaks, Uttarakhand is capable of meeting the needs of both professional and novice trekkers.

Known as the Garhwal Himalayas, it is further divided into the eastern Kumaon division and western Garhwal division. The best trekking season is between April and Early June and then again during October and November. Here is a list of some of the best places to trek in Uttarakhand.

Gomukh Tapovan or Gangotri Glacier Trek

This is a 4 or 5 day trek starting from Gangotri to the Gangotri Glacier. It is one of the most popular treks and is usually taken up as a religious pilgrimage. The literal meaning of Gomukh is cow's snout and it reflects to the origin of the Ganges River.

One can enjoy the fantastic view of Mt. Shivling on one side and Bhagirathi peak on other. Mount Shivling which name refers to the sacred symbol of Lord Shiva, is exceptionally beautiful. It can take the hikers an extra 3 or 4 days for hiking around the Tapovan (meadow) covering different peaks and up the glacier.

Deorital and Chandershila Trek

This is a 4 day trek starting from Rishikesh. It is a little longer than a half day drive to the trailhead at Sari village. An easy 45 min hike would take you to Deorital Lake which has great views. It is an amazing camping site. Next day you can trek to Chopta and then on to the summit of Chandershila. It contains breathtaking views of Chaukhama. In April hills look all pink as they are covered with the blooming Rhododendrons.

Valley of Flowers Trek

This trek would take you to the most famous area for wildflowers in the Himalaya. Unlike the other treks, it is best done during monsoon season as the flowers are in full bloom this time of the year.

The monsoons sure make the trek difficult for the trekkers but the beauty of the flowers make all the hassle worth it. One can stay in one of the lodges at Ghangria in order to stay out of the rain at night and get dry. The trek begins from Govind Ghat and the first day is spent hiking to the small village of Ghangria.

Roopkund Trek

This trek is the spooky one. This beautiful 6 day trek takes one to the “haunted” lake of Roopkund. Known for the human skeletons that can be seen in the lake, the legends say that the lake contains the ancient remains of several hundred people.

Despite all the mysteries, the beautiful surrounding makes the trek worth taking. The trail starts in the dessert oak and rhododendrons forests before emerging above treeline where trekkers can get magnificent views of the giant peaks of Trishul, Nanda Ghunti and Badrinath.

Rupin Pass Trek

Towering waterfalls, pristine views and flower laden meadows ensure that this is the trek meant to leave everyone happy. The trail starts from the small village of Dhaula and over the course of 6 days one reaches to Rupin Pass. The area is mostly uninhabited along the trail and since the trekking gear needs to be prepared with a keen eye.

Pindari Glacier

Present in the Kumaon part of the Garhwal Himalayas, it is a spectacular trek passing through a wild region with incredible views of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Trishul which are some of the tallest peaks in this part of the Himalaya. It is a 6 day trek along the banks of the Pindari River to the glacier. The trekking is not very difficult and locals hold the trek in high accord.

Dodital Trek

The 5 day trek starts from a small village of Uttarkashi and would take one to the beautiful lake of Dodital. This trek can be taken up all the year round due to low elevations with an exception of the monsoon period from June to August. The lake is famous for its Golden Trout which can easily be seen in the crystal clear water. It is set against a forest of Oak and Rhododendron trees which blossom in April.

Heading to the mountains as a first timer could be a scary experience, but as with any vacation, a little planning makes it easier. Here is a quick guide to having a fabulous mountain retreat vacation:

1. Plan Out Your Packing – It may seem a little weird, but take some time to plan out your packing. Lay things out and see what it is that you need to have on your trip. Make sure things fit in your luggage. Think about what you want / need / have to wear as mountain climates can have very different temperatures depending on time of day & elevation.

2. Look for Deals & Savings – Keeping money in your pocket is always a good thing. When planning your first mountain retreat, take the time to find out what deals there are for traveling at certain times during the week / month / season. Sometimes lodges have special discounts available, so it never hurts to ask.

3. Find The Right Place – When planning your retreat, find the facility that is best for you. Nothing sours a vacation more than not having anything to do or be face-to-face with activities that are just not your thing. Call ahead and find out what your destination has to offer and shop around.

4. Remember, it is the mountains – Experts advise that you plan for altitude sickness. Moving up and down various elevations may not always agree with your body. Talk to your doctor and ask about what you can do to keep your health in check.

5. Ask The Locals – No one knows more about the area you are heading into than those that make it their year-round home. Find out what there is to do away from your lodging. Check out the “non-touristy” places that can make any get-away more memorable.

6. Try Something New – It's your first time in the mountains, so make the most of it. Do not do the same old things you do back home. Put down the tablet and take a long walk. Stop checking your email and do some fishing. Breaking out of the ordinary is what makes vacations special.

7. Relaxation through Privacy – The allure of a mountain retreat vacation is based on the idea of getting away. You are looking for a chance to break away from the worries of the world and be a little secluded. Life can get hectic, and finding alone time for you or your family is not easy. Crisp mountain air and scenic views away from the usual hustle and bustle is a great way to find a happy place for everyone.

Being a first time mountain retreat planner does not have to be a nerve-wrecking experience. With a little planning, research, and willingness to be bold, you will find that your next vacation in the mountains can be the trip that gets talked about for years to come.

Let's throw a curve ball for the first one: consider a volunteer job that can allow you to travel the world with no money. This is an opportunity to visit exotic countries, meet a lot of new people, and see places few have seen. Volunteer work exchange programs usually come with free housing and food, allowing you to cut expenses to minimum. But, as you are traveling to these far away lands, volunteer, why do not you take out your camera on your 'off time'. This is where you can really create and hone your skills in order to make money as a travel photographer. It may be obvious, but working with some major media representatives, including magazines and newspapers, can be quite profitable. While demand for exotic and new culture photographs is soaring as of late, traditional journalism could well be just one of your numerous income sources.

Another way to earn money traveling is selling your photos directly to clients. Once you create a good portfolio, with various attractive images in different style, providing numerous options to potential buyers, they will contact you directly looking to buy a photo.

Becoming a travel blogger is another good option you should consider. Even if you're not the best content writer out there, photos can add a lot of value to any site. People that are dreaming of having jobs while traveling will instantly think about those famous bloggers that get to see the great wall of China or float down the Amazon river, while they take awesome pictures and stamp on their laptop. Those who are travel blogging constantly receive the question about how to earn while traveling. How is it possible? How do you do it? People are either surprised or they are in disbelief that these people are actually getting paid to travel. Making a travel blog is not really that easy, but if you really love to travel, this is the ideal job for you and is all worth it.

How to Get Paid for Traveling

Making a travel blog is not all that glamorous. During the first year, you will find it exhausting and rarely rewarding. It's just like starting any other business-it takes a lot of blood sweat and tears when you start. But the payoff is when you are able to experience diverse cultures and observe wide arrays of scenery that will surely take your breath away. That's when you will say to yourself that this is the best job in the world.

The first consideration when starting your travel blogging job is how in the world are you going to make money. There are different ways in which you can make money through travel blogs and all these will generate the cash you need to go on your next expedition. The cool thing is that you can produce money from almost everything. But before you start counting your pennies, there is a lot of work that needs to be done within the first year or two. Becoming a travel blogger requires a solid foundation in order for your blog to be a success. That means your content must be great … not good, not alright, “great”. You need to be direct with the message that you are trying to convey, as well as branding yourself and the travel site.

Creating a travel blog requires informative and quality content in order to create qualified leads. Trying to generate a following from scratch is difficult, so you need to pay attention and observe other professional and effective travel sites. These all have a basic navigation system that is easy to understand, online tools, social media accounts, and other resources. Observe their network and followers, as well as their media kit with positive testimonials from real people.

I do not care if you're the most famous writer in North America, it is never easy starting a travel blog from scratch and make money. If you are already prepared to work hard, do not give up and put forth a lot of time & effort towards this new business, it will be a lot easier on you, mentally. But, if you do not have the right frame of mind, or not prepared to work your tail off, your journey as a travel blogger will be short lived. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

When making a travel blog, it is essential that you find a teacher or mentor that can guide you in this experience. Having a mentor will save you from the pitfalls, mistakes and the large amount of money you have to invest during the first years of your job as a travel blogger. Remember that if you are doing the things you love and not getting paid, it's a hobby. You have to look at this as your only source of income because it's your job. But, it's a pretty sweet job that allows you to travel the world and live the life you want to live.
