Planning a holiday is hard. It does not matter if you know where you want to go, or when you want to go, it is always hard to get to the travel agents and book what you want. Something always goes wrong and you always have to move things around.

Therefore, you can imagine how hard it is to plan a surprise holiday, where everything is up to you and you have to co-ordinate everything because there is no one there to help you.

It is kind of rare for people to book a surprise holiday because if they want to book a break for someone, then they usually take the person with them and find out where they want to go. It is not hard and the person booking the trip is just there to pay for what the other person wants. They do not have to guess anything at all.

If you are in the position where you want to book a surprise holiday, then you have come to the right place. The aim of this article is to show people that booking their surprise break does not have to be a headache.

Destination

You might not know where the recipient would want to go. If this is the case, why are you planning a surprise trip? You should have some idea because you would not really know why they would like a surprise trip in the first place.

It is good to have some idea where they want to go. If you are close to the other person, then you will have been there when they will have mentioned somewhere that they have always wanted to go. If you still do not know, you should ask their friends or pay attention when they comment on their favorite movies, because people always want to go where their favorite movie was filmed.

Internet

Once you know the destination, it is time to start getting quotes for prices of the trip. If you go to the travel agents on the high street, you might pay a bit more than if you booked on a website.

Therefore, it might be worth getting quotes off the travel agent and then going home and looking on their website at the prices. Sometimes travel agents will give you an extra discount for booking online because they want to make more money off their site. If there is a massive discount, then go ahead and book it. But, if you are still not sure, then look on other websites and see if they can offer you anything for cheaper.

You should go with the cheapest quote as long as you do not book a cheap holiday and then you are staying in a dump and you have preferred to pay more for a better hotel. To make sure this does not happen, you should pick a hotel that you like and then get quotes based on that hotel.

Tours

If you know that the person will want to do tours, then it is better if you book them before you go and have everything planned in advance. That way, everything will be a surprise for the other person and they will feel like you have made a massive effort to make it the best holiday for them.

Sometimes, it is more memorable if you choose tours and excursions that are a bit unique. For example, if you are going to Costa Rica, you could probably see the sights on a bus tour. However, you will be crammed in a bus and will not see the sights, the way they were meant to be seen. Therefore, you could book a zip line tour and be out in the open when you see everything and it will be something that you will both remember for the rest of your life.

Tips on How to Plan the Perfect Holiday

Every once in a while, a family will have the opportunity to get all the members of that family together and have a massive holiday. This might only happen once in a lifetime and they will have to make sure that it is the holiday of their lives.

Getting a lot of people together can be very complicated. Everyone will have to have the same day off and if there are kids involved, you will have to make sure that they have the same term holidays, otherwise they will have to be taken out of school and that could be a problem.

Making sure that holidays are perfect takes a lot of work and sometimes it takes years of planning and things can still go wrong. Therefore, one member of the family should take the initiative and organize everything and be the main point of call for the other members of the family.

Destination

If you are in charge, then the first thing that you have to decide is the destination. You are not going to be able to please everyone. Just have a chat to the members of the family and see if there is something that they would prefer over other things.

Just be aware that people are going to moan and put their own two cents in, but you should just ignore people who are like that because they will not be moaning when they are sipping sangria in some exotic location.

Once you have decided on the location, you should start getting quotes and seeing if you can get some special offers. Once you have found the right price, it is time to make a booking and you will need to collect everyone's details. This can be stressful, but you should stay calm and everything should go smoothly.

Plan

You need to plan ahead to make sure everything is sorted. You need to know how you are getting to and from the airport, what your excursions that you want to do when you get there, and what rooms you have at your disposal. If the kids are old enough, you might get some peace if you put them all in the same room and then you can relax. Just make sure that your room is close to their minds, so you can check on them.

Excursions and Tours

If you are thinking of picking some excursions or tours then you should have them planned before you go, especially if there are a lot of you going on the holiday. You should contact the hotel and see what excursions that they have to offer.

They should be more than happy to send you an email with all the names and details of the tours, as well as the pricing. If they do not want to do this, you should Google the area where you're staying, find a touring company and give your money to someone else.

When you contact the company for the details of the tour and you have chosen which tour you want, you should give them any special requirements that any members of your party have and you should ask them if you need to bring any specialist equipment with you.

For example, if you are going somewhere hot, then you may not think to pack any full shoes and some excursions and tours might require that you wear them. If you are going walking in the mountains on a shore excursion or going on a rope adventure, then you will need suitable shoes otherwise you will not be allowed to take part and you may have wasted your money.

How Effective Is Disney World’s New Ride Reservation System?

Making products and services easily accessible is an important determinant in the success of a business. And I think Disney is probably the best in capitalizing this very brutal aspect in the theme-park industry today. Being the world's largest entertainment conglomerate, Disney is unique in handling both its core businesses as well as the demands of fans since inception. It's not just a source that enables you to connect with the ultimate dreams, but also understands the importance of making things available in the most hassle-free and convenient way possible. One great example of this amazing quality about the Company is the implementation of the new ride reservation system at the WDW (Walt Disney World) resort in Orlando.

Intended to provide more flexibility in the booking of favorite rides and bring improvement in the wait-times the new Fastpass + (FP +) system comes with many great promises. Unlike the legacy paper Fastpass , the ability to obtain reservations in advance becomes a reality now for all those passionate about Disney World rides . If you are staying at a Disney hotel then you are good to have a reservation as early 60 days prior to your trip.

The new Fastpass + reservation system also puts an end to the need of visiting a machine in person. Guests have the advantage of choosing from multiple reservation options now. Moreover, if you are a Disney resort guest you can obtain reservation right from the comfort of your home at a mouse click, or on a smart-phone or tablet while in the parks. Beside, there exist many new Fastpass + reservation kiosks through the parks for all guests. Another great feature the new system offers is the ability to change the attractions for which you have the reservations. One can also control the return times of attractions reserved and thus eliminate the risk of losing any reservation times.

However, there are also certain speculations about the latest reservation system that suggest otherwise. It's observed that unlike its predecessor the new Fastpass + program violations discrimination among guests or vacationers. There are fans not as happy since the new reservation system mostly favors a particular section of guests specifically, those staying at a Disney owned hotel. So chances are if you are staying offsite then you are missing some great features. Again with the legacy Fastpass one can have the ability to obtain reservation at more than one park per day. But the same is not the case with the new system as guests are limited to obtain reservations at one park per day.

But whatever may be the specifications, the ultimate objective of the new program is to cut wait-times and bring more flexibility to ride reservations. And I believe Disney is always a champion in adding more value to our dream vacations.

Adventure in the Island

There are many beautiful and exotic locations in the world that you can choose to go when booking your next vacation. Many people love to go to a beachfront setting because they can lie out in front of the ocean and get some sun. However, when you choose your next beach vacation you will want to make it as memorable as possible. That is why there's no better vacation to take than an island vacation in the Caribbean. The beaches on these islands are a lot more beautiful than any of the mainland beaches, like in Florida. The reason being is the mainland beaches have a lot more pollution, which takes the blueness out of the water. Caribbean beaches, like in the Bahamas, have bright blue ocean waters and soft white sand that you can sink your feet into. As for the hotels, they are right next to the ocean and many of the rooms have balconies that you can walk out on to overlook the entire beach resort.

Most people that go on island vacations like to travel on cruise ships, which have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages have to do with being able to see and visit multiple islands during your trip. The disadvantages are that you will not get to stay on a particular island for too long because the cruise ship has a schedule and will not dock for an extended period of time. This means you will not get to stay at any hotels on the islands, which some people may want to do. If you are one of these people then you will need to fly to a particular island of your choice and then make a hotel reservation for a hotel that you would like to stay at. On the Grand Bahama Island, the Westin Hotel is a very popular hotel to stay at amongst tourists. It is an oceanfront hotel that has breathtaking views and even swimming pools in front of the beach . They even have snorkeling guides and fishing trips you can go on in the water. Then right outside the hotel is a Bahamian marketplace that has internet cafés, restaurants, gift shops and so on.

Good vacations are all about adventure and excitement. Sure you can go to Disney World in Florida and go on a lot of fun rides, but they will not even compare to the real life adventures that island vacations have to offer. Plus, you will get to see new lands and meet people of different cultures. These are experiences that no theme park will ever give you. So, when you plan your next vacation make sure it is on an exotic island and make sure you get a beachfront hotel reservation.

How to Keep Your Gadgets Safe While on an Adventure Trip

Taking an adventure trip can be amazing fun, full of excitement and adrenaline. The challenge is keeping your gadgets safe during this trip. Taking an adventure trip can be amazing fun, full of excitement and adrenaline. The challenge is keeping your gadgets safe during this trip. There are so many ways in which your gadgets could be compromised – pickpockets, you drop it in a river, canyon, from a moving vehicle, and so on.

You could just leave without any of your gadgets and go completely off grid, but that may not be such a good idea, especially if you're going on an adventure trip. These gadgets help you find hotels at short notice, making sense of the local public transportation system, translating languages to help you communicate better, money transfers, GPS, etc.

So, how do you ensure that these handy little devices are protected during your adventures? Here are a few tips to help you out.

Get Some Gadget Travel Insurance

Before you do anything else, get all your gadgets insured. Most good travel insurance policies will offer gadget travel insurance which will cover your gadgets. When you're on adventure trips, there are chances that your gadgets could be lost, stolen or damaged. However, if they are insured, it will take just a few days to have them replaced.

Do NOT Have too Many Gadgets

If you carry fewer gadgets, there are also fewer chances of damage, loss or theft. Having too many gadgets attractions attention, which means that there is a higher chance that your expensive devices could get stolen. It is also easier to lose track of them when you have too many gadgets. The best thing you can do is just keep one or two gadgets with you on your trip; usually a smartphone and a camera are enough.

Use a Simple Over-the-Shoulder Bag to Store Your Gadgets

If you are carrying a fancy bag in which you have put your gadgets, you are inviting trouble. Instead, get a non-descript over-the-shoulder bag that you can clutch in front of you in a crowded area. You can even invest in one of those anti-theft bags that are available in the market today.

Change Your Camera Strap

Nothing invites more unwelcome attention than a camera strap that advertises the brand of your camera. Change your camera strap to something low-key and non-descript, so that even if the strap hangs out of your bag, no one will pay attention to it.

Make Use of the Hotel Safe

Most hotels provide a safe in their guest rooms. So use it. Your insurance company will not cover thefts from hotel rooms if the gadgets were not kept in a safe. And if you're going to be out the entire day participating in an adventure activity, then you do not want to be associated with too much baggage.

These ideas may sound like overkill, but remember those devices you have can cost a pretty penny when you add it all up. And do not forget, all people are not evil, you can get lucky and find a Good Samaritan who will locate your lost or stolen gadgets and return them to you.

Tiger safaris are one of the most exhilarating experiences that one can possibly have!

The meadow is heavy with morning mist and the sun just edging over the dark mass of Bamhnidadar plateau, is a hazy red ball. All around us the jungle and grassland is alive with the frantic yelping alarm calls of spotted deer and the deer calls of the rare and endemic swamp deer. We strain our eyes in the twilight dawn with barely contained excitement, hoping to spot the tiger that is the cause of all this loud anxiety. We know he is a large male for his tracks are etched sharp and fresh in the dust of the forest track we are on and they are large with square pads and thick stubby toes. Our expert naturalist guide points to where they disappear into the grass and whispers that this is a new male in this territory. A large swamp deer stag with a magnificent spread of multi-tined antlers festooned with ragged grass, is looking intently into a tall patch of grass where the tiger has veered off the track into the meadow. The calling has gone away and we feel disappointment setting in. But our guide nods to itself and drives. We think he has given up but he is experienced and cunning and drives a few hundred yards round a shallow bend where he stops instructing us to look behind us and stay absolutely still. And suddenly in the brightening morning light, padding masterfully towards us is the tiger.

Bengal tiger safaris are operated mainly in Central India and the Himalayan foothills using eco-audible comfortable and personalized camps with expert guides. Tiger safaris and wildlife holidays to India are often expertly tailor by India's top naturalists – be it a luxury safari through the heart of tiger country, or a specialist exploration of wildlife in the remote borderlands, and everywhere in between. India is a true paradise for the nature-lover, and it really is the only country in the world where you could on a single holiday go looking for virtually all the great cats of the Old World – which include tigers, lions, leopards, snow leopards, and clouded leopards. Why not team your tiger safari with a stay in an isolated forest bungalow, or an owner-managed, tented camp in the foothills of the Himalayas with an expert guide, far from the crowds and at the heart of the action?

With some of the most magnificent forests, wildlife, and landscapes on Earth surrounded by azure seas, Borneo is one of the greatest holiday destinations on earth.

Holidays to Borneo can encompass the cultural – especially in Sarawak in and around the historic capital of Kuching and the Dayak Longhouses in the interior to the monumental wealth of biodiversity in the ancient rainforests of the Danum Valley; the untouched wilderness of the Maliau Basin and the jagged mountains around Mt. Kinabalu with giant pitcher plants that can digest a small rodent to the bizarrely beautiful Rafflesias – the largest flowers in the world!

This is the land of orangutans and pygmy elephants; giant crocodiles and 8 species of colorful hornbills; of mysterious Sumatran Rhinos, endemic Proboscis monkeys and graceful gibbons. Imagine waking at dawn in a luxurious lodge deep in a primary rainforest to the wild 'singing' of Bornean gibbons from high in the trees across the river. Then walking with your expert private guide along a partly cleared track, trip-wired by a maze of shallow roots in pursuit of a huge adult male orangutan too heavy to cross from tree to tree. A slow walk in pitch darkness scanning the slender trunks of young saplings for the soft gleam from the huge non-reflective eyes of a western tarsier – the tiny orange-furred primate that inspired ET. And then returning to a sumptuous meal before retiring to your rainforest bungalow and plunging into a huge stone bath on the verandah, listening to the orchestra of the rainforest.

And the islands in the Sulu Sea offer some of the best diving, snorkelling and relaxing in the world with the joy of nesting turtles being seen through the year. Holidays to Borneo offer some of the fun, enjoyable and educational holidays on offer in all of Asia! It is also a fabulous country to take the whole family on holiday. Sabah (North Borneo) is an excellent place for children. When you're tired of searching for orangutans and other delightful primates, why not go white water rafting, search for elephants in the jungle, go horse riding, or simply sample the wonderful beaches on offer. Close to the capital of Sabah is a wonderful resort that has weekly schedules for children, including visiting the orangutan rehabilitation center, watersports, riding and golf and white water rafting trips. Borneo is also wonderful for nesting marine turtles and there is a tiny atoll with only one resort, which is great for snorkelling and watching turtles.

Luxury North India Rajasthan

Rajasthan can be daunting if you are a first-time traveler to this region and you want more than just a “Golden Triangle holiday”. How to plan such a holiday? Rajasthan can be daunting if you are a first-time traveler to this region and you want more than just a “Golden Triangle holiday”. How to plan such a holiday? How to avoid the pitfalls or mass market tourism? How to make sure the holiday is of the right quality? How to engender sufficient intellectual stimulation?

The answer, of course, lies not only in expert advice but, perhaps even more crucial to the success and enjoyment of a holiday of this calibre (which, by default, becomes an exploration as opposed to just a holiday), is being certain that one is staying with – and being informed by – the correct people. This means basing oneself at interesting, beautiful, personable and sometimes eccentric properties and being guided through India's many delights by a person at each location location who is altogether cognisant of what one is trying to achieve. The fact that this person may also be slightly eccentric is at least immaterial and more often a bonus, but the critical criterion here is that knowledge of this intimate, gorgeous, region of India should be associated with humor, intelligence and élan!

For it is these idiosyncratic aspects of India that make a luxury Rajasthan (or a luxury North India / Rajasthan) holiday so appealing. Here lies the vibrant and colorful heartland of the great kingdoms ruled by Emperors and the Maharajas! Here lies the Taj Mahal and other gems of Mughal and Rajput architecture side by side with desert countryside and nomadic cultures. Here are rich colors, ornate opulent palaces and gorgeous Royal tented camps. Here, too, the colorful festivals of Pushkar and Nagaur. Here one can ride camels through the Thar desert or magnificent Marwari horses, meet local villagers, stay in beautiful havelis and dine with the noble owners before leaving more as friends than visitors. Why not take an art tour with an artist, or visit the Jantar Observatory with an expert on astronomy? Or be involved with a group of elders discussing the problems their village faces in the 21st century, and see the palaces and fungi which house miniature art and Rajput treasures. This is the essence of such a holiday: meeting and staying with a local Maharajah, getting briefed briefly in local affairs of note or politics, being in the countryside away from mainstream tourism still observing the harvest or experiencing still-magnificent fauna. This is the Rajasthan which is so much more than the so-called Golden Triangle.

Immerse yourself in Rajasthan, do it in style, and enjoy a wonderful, eclectic, intelligent and satisfying Rajasthan holiday.

A Bhutan holiday is quite an extraordinary experience. Bhutan truly is one of the Earth's blessed Acres. It's a small country with a very low population density – itself a unique gift in over-populated south Asia.

The landscape – straddling the Eastern Himalayas from the foothills to the spine – is some of the most beautiful on Earth and further embellished by particularly harmonious architecture, especially Tibetan in origin but feeling just right for these densely forested mountains as well. And the forests are extensive. By law Bhutan must have a minimum of 65% of land area under forest. At present, more than 75% of the country is under a range of different types of forests – from sub-tropical moist deciduous to montane evergreen, birch and alpine meadow. And the forests are absolutely bursting with life. The Eastern Himalayas are a world bio-diversity hotspot and with the highest percent of land under forest, Bhutan is the very epicentre of this coffer of biological riches. Walk a trail through a forest of giant hemlocks and one gapes in amazement at just how much life a single tree can support – Spanish, moss, ferns, fungi, rainbow flocks of birds in the branches. I reckon you could spend a fair a few days just identifying and counting up what a single tree supports!

But here's the thing – you could be doing this while threading your way along a tree shadowed path to a remote little monastery made sacred with the hum of Buddhist prayer; draped in bright strings of flags in the colors representing the five elements recognized by Buddhists and Hindus as the basis of the cosmos.

In the modern age we increasingly make the distinction between natural and man-made worlds. And by extension we label our holidays as nature safaris or cultural tours. But with a Bhutan holiday these distinctions are blurred to the point of non-existence – nature and humans live in harmony and so any Bhutan holiday is automatically an experience of nature and human culture. Something that the Bhutanese themselves are deeply proud of.

Do you have to live in yak hair tents in the pastures of high altitude nomads to experience Bhutan? Not exactly – although that option is very much available! In recent years Bhutan has seen the arrival of some wonderful small hotels in Paro, Punakha and Bumthang along with some excellent Bhutanese five star options in Paro. Ideally, you can mix and match – using normal Bhutanese accommodations for most of the trip with a few days in the lap of luxury.
